A webinar is like a seminar—but instead of holding it in a classroom or conference room, you’re leading it online. Holding a webinar—essentially giving an educational presentation—is a great way to connect, demonstrate your expertise, and educate your agents and brokers about the insurance products you sell. Here are a few ideas for wholesale insurance agents.
Highlight a specific product you sell. You can conduct a webinar on any of the insurance products you offer—what they cover, who they’re appropriate for, and other relevant details. This will give your insurance agents and brokers important information about the coverages their clients need.
Talk about new issues that affect coverage. Has there been a new rule or regulation at the state or federal level that will have an effect on insurance products you specialize in? If so, your audience no doubt will want to know about it—and you can further demonstrate your expertise and value to them by showing that you are up-to-date on important developments in the industry.
Address commonly asked questions. Do you regularly get a certain type of question from agents and brokers? If so, set up a webinar that addresses the topic. You can edit the video and leave it up on your website as a response to commonly asked questions, and regularly promote it.
Repackage your webinars. Once you’ve run a webinar, you can keep the recording, edit it down, and use it in a variety of ways. Put it up on your website as a way to answer frequently asked questions. Promote it to the contacts on your email or advertising list who didn’t attend, and leave it up on your website as a free download—or start a YouTube channel to reach a wider audience. This will drive traffic to your site as well as showcasing your expertise.
Once you’ve decided which topic to address, you’ll need to promote your webinar on your social media platform, your blog, and in other communications. Developing a webinar can be cost-efficient and a highly effective way to promote your business.
