If you’ve been in business for a while as an insurance wholesale broker, chances are you have some insurance partnerships and companies that you’re very grateful for. Thanksgiving is an ideal time to show them that you’re thankful to have their trust and their business. Here are a few ideas.
Hand-written notes. How often do people receive hand-written thank-you cards anymore? As much as we all depend on email for business communications, sometimes it’s nice to see that someone we work with took the time to write out a thoughtful note by hand. For extra impact, mention something specific to thank you for—such as a project you worked on together.
Thanksgiving-themed gift baskets. For your most important business partners, something more than a thank-you card might be appropriate. Consider a gift basket—you can order these online with items for a range of tastes and interests, as well as price ranges. The gift baskets can cater to tastes for healthy snacks, cured meats and cheeses, wine or chocolate, or almost anything else.
A write-up on your website. Write a brief article on your company blog or website highlighting some of your most important business partners to show your appreciation. Mention the role they have played in your business and stress the importance of your relationship with them.
A shout-out on your social media. If you use Twitter or another social media platform a lot, write a brief tweet or status post to them, expressing your appreciation for everything they’ve done for you this year. This is more brief than a letter or hand-written card, but if you individualize each message, you can make it just as personal.
Throw a party. If most of your business partners and the companies you work with are local, host a party in their honor. You can make it as elaborate or simple as your budget allows; it could take the form of a dinner or luncheon, an office get-together, or a sunset cruise. Either way, hosting a pre-Thanksgiving get-together is a great way to show your appreciation.
A thank-you video. Make a video highlighting your business partnerships and post it on your website. Send a link to the people mentioned in it. This will have the two-fold effect of showing your appreciation and highlighting your insurance connections to your insurance agent partners.
There are plenty of ways to show your appreciation during Thanksgiving to the people and companies you work with. No matter how you do it, the important thing is that you do. It will set you apart—and make your business partners appreciate you more in return.
