Big, elaborate resolutions can be motivating and inspiring for some people. But let’s face it – the past year has been a challenge for many of us, as has the year before. Many of us just need some easy wins.
So this year, we’re bringing a few New Year’s resolutions to help you work smarter, not harder, to raise your marketing game in 2022.
1. Outsource Where You Can
Most people who run their own business wear a lot of hats, and wholesale insurance is no exception. But consider whether your time wouldn’t be more profitably spent doing what you’re best at, rather than taking on all possible tasks.
This year, do an audit of where you spend most of your time, and consider outsourcing the tasks you find most difficult and onerous. Hire a professional to handle your marketing and social media, manage your end-of-year taxes, and other tasks outside of your specialty.
It may cost more up front, but you’ll be saving time and also, in many cases, bringing in more money in the long run.
2. Automate Your Marketing
Studies show that automating your marketing can generate outstanding results.
Automation can:
- Improve interaction on your ads by 10x
- Reduce cost per leads by 20%
- Increase the amount of qualified leads you generate by a whopping 451%
It also saves you time. Consider ways you can automate your social media posting with tools like Hootsuite or Later, automate your email marketing campaigns with Mailchimp or Constant Contact, optimize your pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns and more.
3. Spruce Up Your Website
How long has it been since your website had an overhaul? Maybe it’s due.
Click around to each page and make sure everything is still in working order. Make sure your images are still viewable, there are no broken links, your plugins and themes are up to date, and you don’t have any style or formatting problems.
Check your content to make sure it’s all up to date. If you’re missing pages dedicated to important aspects of your business, make a plan to develop those. If you haven’t posted on your blog in ages, consider developing a content plan.
Outsourcing to a professional web designer or copywriter is a great idea if you know you won’t have time to handle it all yourself. It’s also not a bad idea to consult with an SEO expert to update your on-site SEO. All of this will improve website traffic and overall conversions.
4. Check-In With Your Audience
Consider checking in with the agents you work with. This is especially important if it’s been a while.
Do you still understand their pain points? What challenges have they faced in the past year, and how can you help with those challenges? How have regulatory changes and current events impacted them? It’s possible that your messaging could use some updates to better meet prospects where they are. You won’t know until you ask.
2022 is the year to work smarter, not harder. Consider adopting one or more of these resolutions, and hopefully you’ll be able to generate better results – without a lot more work.
